Melissa Penn, Director, Marion County Office of Emergency Management has designated the Community Building on the Marion County Fairgrounds as a Red Cross Shelter and Respite Center. People needing water, food, supplies, and shower facilities are welcome daily from * 9am to 5 pm *.
* Red Cross, Convoy of Hope, Food Bank of North Central Arkansas, the Marion County Thrift Store, and many private donors have stocked the facility with food and drinks such as cereal, peanut butter crackers, Body Armor drinks and ramen noodles. There area also household items, and cleaning supplies.
* Shower facilities are available.
*The community building is staffed by volunteers seven days a week. Please call 870-449-7567, Office of Emergency Management, for more information, to donate, or to volunteer.
* Many volunteers have donated their time to help keep the Red Cross Center opened 9 - 5 seven days a week to assist those affected by the recent storms.
*We are still accepting donations of paper products, such as paper towels, toilet paper, paper plates and bowls, napkins and plastic silverware.
